WeHope is an official Massachusetts nonprofit organization that aims to erect a Statue of Peace in the Boston area. Since 2017, WeHope has focused on providing accurate accounts of the painful history of ‘Comfort Women’, victims of wartime sex trafficking during World War II. Moving forward, WeHope intends to advocate for equal women’s and human rights, seeks to build communities every woman can feel safe in, and will tirelessly work to prevent future wartime sex crimes.

From exclusive screenings with directors of ‘Comfort Women’ films, to regular general meetings with all six chapters, WeHope conducts and hosts a wide variety of events to further inform the public regarding the issue. Short ‘card news’ are uploaded every other week to educate members and nonmembers with topics including but not limited to, ‘Comfort Women’ history, women’s rights, and human trafficking.

To take a step forward in creating the Statue of Peace in Boston, we held fundraising events in addition to events that had the sole purpose of informing the public. Through the information and fundraising events, we aim to let the world know the truth about ‘Comfort Women' issues and prevent the issue from getting flushed away in history.
